for taking 'Top Chef 2011' honors at the
Ashland Food and Wine Classic!

Unabashedly one of our favourite places to eat in Ashland.  Although it dubs it’s menu as "Home  Cuisine", chances are few ever feasted on this sort of fare growing up, save on special occasions.  While there's certainly meatloaf, pork chops, and even macaroni and cheese (okay, ‘Pasta baked with four cheeses'), I’m here to shout, it ain’t yo mama’s meatloaf or mac 'n cheese.

Yet comfort food it most assuredly is. Velvety soups and bisques; a thoughtfully balanced ‘Farm Plate’ of cheeses, fruits and sausage; perfectly grilled steelhead and steaks ... all translate to a guaranteed enjoyable meal.

Yet the streets of Ashland are rich with places to get good food.  What elevates Larks to a truly stellar dining experience is it’s casually elegant atmosphere coupled with outstanding service.  Vigilant without being intrusive, at once friendly and professional, the staff at Larks are a dream.  Come in once and you’ll be greeted by name when you return;  likely your preferences in wines or seating will be remembered as well.  They have a way of making you feel like the honored guest in the home of an old friend who just happens not to be in residence at the moment.  Ask to be seated in Paige’s section if you can.

At Larks we partner and support local farmers, creameries, grass-fed meat and dairy producers, and sustainable seafood providers, to create dishes that excite and surprise with freshness and flavors. Our co-executive chefs Kate Cyr and David Georgeson create menus that best showcase what is in season.

Local and seasonal food is fresh. And so are our dishes – fresh, delicious and nutritious!
