Alex’s - a downright institution in Downtown - is one of those places we locals want to make sure stays alive during the off-season. Comfy sofa and chairs around the warm, cozy fireplace are perfect for curling up on a cold winter night with a glass of wine and a good (or very good) friend.
Peckish? While Alex’s is fairly famous for their Lamb - and the Autumn Seafood Stew is out of this world - I often make a meal out of their appetizers. Their Gorgonzola and Pistachio Terrine, Warm Goat Cheese & Sundried Tomato Toasts and luscious Calvados sauteed Mixed Mushrooms are all fabulous, and their consistently delicious soups will warm your cockles for the chilly walk home.
